ScratchWorks Recognized as a Finalist in the 2018 WealthManagement.com Industry Awards Program
The financial technology accelerator is recognized as a technology disruptor.
Overland Park, Kan., July 24, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — ScratchWorks, a financial technology accelerator that connects innovative technology companies with investment and wealth management industry leaders, today announced it has been honored as a 2018 Industry Award finalist by WealthManagement.com. The recognition honors outstanding achievement in the wealth management industry.
Finalists were chosen by a diverse panel of industry professionals from more than 600 entries received from nearly 250 companies. ScratchWorks is honored in the category of Disruptors: Technology.
ScratchWorks was launched by a consortium of five leading executives in the financial services industry as a FinTech accelerator that connects innovative technology companies with wealth management luminaries to advance the digital transformation of the financial services industry. Through ScratchWorks, top wealth management and investment firm leaders hear pitches from financial technology companies seeking seed funding or early stage investment. Successful pitches are eligible for on-the-spot investment offers, as well as additional support and networking opportunities.
The five founders of ScratchWorks are leaders of top wealth management and investment firms around the country, including: Marty Bicknell (CEO and president of Mariner Wealth Advisors), Richard M. Burridge, Jr. (founding partner, CEO, and chief investment officer of RMB Capital), John D. Eadie (founder and managing director of Covenant), Jon Jones (CEO of Brighton Jones), and Michael J. Nathanson (chairman, CEO, and president of The Colony Group).
According to Kevin Corbett, regional managing director at Mariner Wealth Advisors, “The most exciting part of ScratchWorks is that it provides an opportunity for FinTech innovators to pitch to investors during a live event attended by hundreds of leaders from across the wealth management industry. Being recognized by WealthManagement.com is an honor in itself, and also because it helps us spread the word about ScratchWorks to FinTech innovators across the country.”
“Participating in ScratchWorks has opened doors for us,” said Robert Sofia, founder and chief executive officer of Snappy Kraken, a 2018 ScratchWorks finalist. “Not only did it help us raise additional capital, but the insights provided by five of the RIA industry’s leading authorities has proven to be invaluable. An added benefit is that ScratchWorks elevated our media profile, which helped us attract new clients. It’s a great program and I highly recommend it to all financial technology startups.”
Snappy Kraken is also a 2018 Wealth Management.com finalist, in the category of Technology Providers: Social Media Leadership.
Fidelity Clearing & Custody Solutions and the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business are sponsors of ScratchWorks.
ScratchWorks will begin accepting FinTech and WealthTech submissions in the fall of 2018. For additional information or to submit an application, visit scratch.works or follow us on Twitter @_scratchworks.
