QAWorks acquired by DevOps firm ECS Digital
QAWorks, a UK-based technical software testing company, has been taken over by DevOps specialist ECS Digital.
The merged company will operate under the ECS Digital brand. It will have a £10 million turnover, with a growth expectation of over 100% year on year.
“QAWorks is recognised in the industry as the home of the software development engineer in test (SDET),” ECS Digital says. The combined company will have “one of the largest pools of SDET and DevOps engineers in the UK”.
“This acquisition is part of ECS Digital’s strategy to reduce the time and cost of delivering software and software-related services by including practices such as behaviour driven development (BDD) and acceptance test driven development (ATDD) as core elements of all DevOps transformations,” it explains.
According to Andy Cureton, founder and MD of ECS Digital, “this is the first time that a specialist DevOps company has integrated to this extent with a specialist testing company”.
He believes this merger will make ECS Digital unique – “as we will be the only consultancy to offer specialist testing practices as a foundation element of our DevOps offerings as well as in their own right”.
ECS Digital is part of ECS Group, founded in 2008 and headquartered in Scotland. It has offices across the UK and one in Pune, India. ECS Group provides a range of services, including cloud adoption, cybersecurity and DevOps. In the banking sector its clients include Nationwide Building Society and “three of the four largest UK retail banks”.
