HSBC makes a GT Nexus for digital trade
HSBC’s customers in the US can now access GT Nexus’s digital commerce platform for managing supply chain processes.
Vinay Mendonca, global head of product and propositions, global trade and receivables finance at HSBC, says: “We, and a number of our customers, identified GT Nexus as a platform that could help our customers improve their financing and logistics capabilities.
“We are already working with a US-based apparel retailer to simplify their global supply chain management process and supplier financing needs using this platform and aim to build on this success for a wider range of businesses.”
GT Nexus, part of enterprise software company Infor, offers a single cloud-based collaboration platform.
According to GT Nexus, its network manages more than $500 billion worth of goods each year. The firm says integrating the supply chain financing capabilities provided by HSBC will “enable clients to transform the way they pay their supplier and manage working capital”.
Last month, HSBC and IBM announced they are working on a project “to develop a cognitive intelligence solution combining optical character recognition with advanced robotics to make global trade safer and more efficient”.
