Simon Paris steps down as Finastra CEO, Chris Walters appointed as successor
Chris Walters, the former head of Avantax, has been named the new CEO of London-headquartered financial software provider Finastra, effective immediately.
Walters replaces Simon Paris, who is stepping down as Finastra’s CEO after more than six years in the role.
Finastra, which offers a suite of banking, lending, treasury and capital markets, and payments solutions, was created in 2017 from the combination of two banking tech vendors, D+H Corporation and Misys. Paris was appointed as CEO the following year.
Under Paris’ leadership, the united company says to have expanded its customer base to over 8,000 clients across 130 countries and achieved double-digit Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) growth.
Walters joins Finastra with over three decades of experience, including his recent tenure as CEO of Pluralsight, a US-based online education platform. He previously held the role of CEO of Avantax, a Dallas-headquartered tax-focused wealth management solutions provider.
He also previously served as chief operating officer at the Weather Company, the parent firm of the Weather Channel, and held leadership positions at Bloomberg and McKinsey & Company.
