Aussie paytech Fat Zebra acquires Pin Payments for undisclosed sum
Fat Zebra, an Australian payments processor, has snapped up Melbourne-based payment software provider Pin Payments for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2011, Pin Payments provides a digital platform tailored to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), featuring a suite of solutions that includes e-commerce tools, recurring payments, and embedded payment capabilities.
Fat Zebra says it will leverage the acquisition of Pin Payments, which supports over 13,000 businesses across Australia and New Zealand, to create a “comprehensive offering that meets the needs of businesses at every stage of growth”.
Fat Zebra emphasised how the purchase will lead to faster onboarding for new clients, stronger cybersecurity measures, and enhanced payment innovations.
Meanwhile, Pin Payments noted on LinkedIn that the move brings together top domestic talent, with the combined workforce expected to surpass 70 employees.
Earlier this year, Fat Zebra, which claims to process over 250 million transactions annually, totalling over $20 billion, also acquired Sydney-based customer data technology firm Adatree.
This move aimed to integrate Adatree’s open data capabilities to “enhance payment services” and provide Fat Zebra’s clients with deeper insights into their transactions and customer behaviour.
