Request Finance acquires Lithuanian VASP Pay.so
French fintech start-up Request Finance has purchased virtual asset service provider (VASP) Pay.so Lithuania to offer on/off ramps for fiat and crypto-based payments.
The solution will bolster the accounts payable, accounts receivable and accounting functions contained in Request Finance’s platform for crypto and fiat operations, which together enable direct payments to over 190 countries.
According to a statement on the purchase, Pay.so has provided the platform with multi-currency fiat payouts “for several months now”.
In acquiring its partner, Request Finance claims it “now powers the smoothest Fiat2Crypto onramps and Crypto2Fiat offramps for $100 to $100 million transactions”.
These ramps will enable clients to make MiCA-compliant payments to third parties across Europe, as well as to pay bills and employees through a “one-click” feature.
Commenting on the deal’s value via a post on LinkedIn, Christophe Lassuyt, CEO at Request Finance, says: “The price tag is not $1.1 billion, but it’s game-changing nonetheless”.
The Paris-based firm previously also bought Consola Finance in March for an undisclosed sum, expanding its platform with cryptocurrency-specific accounting functions.
