Meet the panellists:
Chris Waring, Head of Digital Customer Journeys, NatWest
Chris has a background in both banking and technology. After completing his computer science degree at Cambridge, he ventured into commercial banking and took on various commercial and digital roles at both Barclays and HSBC. His work at HSBC was primarily focused on global digital initiatives, especially Digital Business Banking in the UK and Hong Kong. He also spent time in the Middle East as the COO of a regional financing house. More recently, Chris has worked at UK fintechs Revolt and Trade Ledger. In 2022, he joined NatWest, to work on enhancing digital customer journeys for the Commercial and Institutional division.
Conrad Ford, Chief Product and Strategy Officer, Allica Bank
Conrad Ford is Chief Product & Strategy Officer at Allica Bank, recently named by The Sunday Times as the UK’s fastest-growing company, and by Deloitte as the UK’s fastest-growing fintech firm ever. Backed by TCV – investors in the likes of Netflix, Revolut and Spotify – Allica is reimagining banking for established SMEs with the latest technology. Previously Conrad was sole founder of Funding Options – a fintech listed in the 2022 FT1000 ranking of Europe’s fastest-growing firms – that latterly sold to leading neobank Tide.
Kam Chana, Head of Product Experience – Analytics and AI, LSEG
Kam is a visionary leader and advocate for human focused design in the digital age. With a deep belief that innovation should enhance lives, she is dedicated to reimagining the future of technology by placing humanity at its heart. Through a commitment to sustainability and inclusivity, Kam challenges industries to create solutions that not only drive progress but also improve the human experience.
Joe Thompson, CTO, Hedgehog Lab
Joe is the Chief Technology Officer at hedgehog lab where he is leading a multi-disciplinary team of developers, QAs and solutions architects as they work their digital magic on web, mobile apps, AI and connected platforms. Before joining the lab he was Chief Technology and Product Officer at Deep Medical where he and his team developed AI products to address health inequality.
He has previously led digital products for brands including Save the Children, BMW, Ernst and Young and Financial Times, and has consulted on innovation for companies across Europe, the US and Asia. Prior to joining Deep Medical, Joe was CTO at Accenture’s digital product business Xoomworks, and before that worked in tech and product at Expedia. He serves as a board advisor and leadership mentor for several purpose-led start-ups and participates in London good-tech meetups.
