Austria’s Ixopay appoints Ronnie Thomson as new CTO
Ixopay has named Ronnie Thomson as its new chief technology officer (CTO) to “expand global development” of its payment orchestration platform.
The fintech describes its new hire as a “key player” in its future growth plans, who will “spearhead the next wave of Ixopay innovation”.
Thomson succeeds the position from Felix Privitera, who has served as Ixopay’s CTO for the past 11 years. The software executive joins directly from aPriori Technologies, where he was CTO and VP of engineering.
He has also held senior technical positions at companies such as Uplight, Quark and ZOLL Data.
In addition to a new CTO, Ixopay has also announced a new chief customer officer (CCO) in Kelly Wenzel, who previously headed operations for Californian identity and access management solutions provider SecureAuth.
Both hires come shortly after Ixopay merged with US-based TokenEx, which specialises in the tokenisation of payment data, in April.
Described at the time as a “transatlantic partnership”, Ixopay previously stated that the move promised “an expanded geographical reach” of its business payments solution.
Headquartered in Vienna, the fintech’s platform consolidates payment processes into a single system, enabling businesses to connect with over 200 payment service providers (PSPs) through a unified API and detect potential fraud with an integrated risk engine.
In its latest statement, Ixopay says the addition of Thomson and Wenzel “further strengthens the company’s executive leadership to advance its strategic vision”.
