Kenya’s Diamond Trust Bank taps Network International for digital payment solutions
Kenya’s Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) has partnered with Network International, a digital payments company serving the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, as the bank looks to “reinforce” its digital-first strategy by expanding its digital payment product range.
The new collaboration will see Network International provide DTB with a suite of digital payment solutions backed by a range of “robust security protocols”, including fraud prevention and 3D Secure authentication.
The bank will also utilise Network International’s platform for debit, credit and prepaid card hosting and processing.
DTB is looking to accelerate its digital payments transformation in Kenya amid surging interest in digital payment solutions across the country influenced by rising internet penetration and mobile phone usage.
Established in 1946, DTB is headquartered in Nairobi and operates over 155 branches across Kenya, Burundi, Uganda, and Tanzania.
Speaking on the collaboration, Dr Reda Helal, Network International’s Group MD of processing, Africa, and co-head of group processing, says the firm aims to help DTB “in meeting the rising interest among the emerging middle class, youth and SME market segments, especially the unbanked, for services that support a digital lifestyle and enable financial inclusion”.
Founded in 1994, Network International provides its merchant clients with various online and offline payment acceptance methods while also managing and processing their customers’ payment credentials and transactions.
