Tribe Payments promotes CSO Andrew Hocking to CEO position
UK-based digital payments and infrastructure orchestrator Tribe Payments has promoted Andrew Hocking, its chief strategy officer (CSO) of one year, to the position of CEO.
Hocking is expected to leverage over a decade of experience in senior strategic and operational leadership roles to identify “new business opportunities” to aid Tribe in its “next expansion phase”, according to a statement.
Moreover, the new CEO has been tasked with leading the firm’s efforts to secure additional investment as it “matures into a fully-fledged scale-up”.
Before joining Tribe as CSO last July, Hocking served as CEO at UK paytech Pay.com for eight months, after holding the position of CSO at Dubai-based digital commerce company Network International for almost five years.
Having worked with Hocking during two of his previous tenures, Lynda Clarke, Tribe Payments’ COO, claims to have witness first-hand the new CEO’s “unrivalled ability to analyse market conditions and company operational workflows to deliver on ambitious growth objectives”.
Founded in 2018, Tribe offers a white-label digital banking solution and open banking compliance API, claiming to serve over 65 clients globally.
Tribe boasts of being the first issuer and acquirer processor to facilitate transactions for American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Discover and UnionPay.
