Vietnam’s PVcomBank launches mobile banking app powered by Temenos Digital on AWS
Vietnam Public Commercial Joint Stock Bank (PVcomBank) has introduced its new banking app, PVConnect, powered by Temenos Digital on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Temenos says the commercial bank’s new app offers a “modern and user-friendly mobile banking service”, with features such as electronic ID verification, bill management, transfer and payment services, and a reward system.
The bank worked with Temenos to “quickly design, build, and launch” the new offering utilising the Swiss vendor’s cloud-native digital banking platform.
Temenos adds that its platform will enable PVcomBank to further develop the app using “low/no code tools” to quickly introduce new features to meet customer demands.
Furthermore, Temenos says that by leveraging Temenos Digital, PVcomBank, which has been running on Temenos Core for retail and corporate banking for over 10 years, has been able to integrate its “front and back-office capabilities on a single platform linking on-premise data centres and the cloud”, enabling the firm to streamline processes and increase automation.
Commenting on the launch of the bank’s new app, PVcomBank’s deputy general director, Nguyen Viet Ha, says mobile banking “is the primary channel for our retail business”, adding that Temenos Digital on AWS provides the “scalability and flexibility we need to stay agile and responsive to market trends”.
Established in 2013, PVcomBank manages around VND 230 trillion (approximately $9 billion) in assets and has a network comprising 113 offices across Vietnam.
