France’s Request Finance acquires crypto accounting fintech Consola Finance
French fintech start-up Request Finance has acquired Consola Finance, a Vienna-based cryptocurrency accounting platform, for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2020, Paris-based Request Finance operates a platform that enables Web3 companies and freelancers to receive, send and convert cryptocurrency payments across a range of payment requests, including payroll, expenses and invoicing.
As per February 2024, the start-up currently handles a total of 2,401 cryptocurrency payments per month for 2,151 active users, with the total amount of cryptocurrency payments paid through the platform since its launch standing at over $669 million.
Its purchase of Consola Finance is set to bolster its platform with cryptocurrency-specific accounting functions, allowing users to import and categorise transactions which can then be uploaded to enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems including QuickBooks.
Christophe Lassuyt, CEO at Request Finance, says the company’s “crypto-friendly” platform “combines the functionalities of Bill.com, Netsuite, and Expensify” into a single solution.
Christophe Fonteneau, head of strategy at Request Finance, adds that the combination of both parties’ technologies “elevates confidence” in the use of cryptocurrency to complete business transactions.
