ID verification fintech Data Zoo appoints new CEO
Australian identification solutions vendor Data Zoo has appointed Charlie Minutella as its new chief executive officer (CEO), effective this month.
Sydney-based Data Zoo verifies various businesses’ customers by offering several services such as document authentication, business checks, online fraud detection and real-time data verification.
The fintech says Minutella will be responsible for “guiding the company to further capitalise on its strengths and broaden its identity and fraud prevention solutions to address increasingly complex customer needs”.
Data Zoo highlights that Minutella’s background in overseeing compliance, risk, and identity teams greatly influenced his recruitment.
Minutella, who will be leading the company’s global operations from its New York office, spent over five years at the London Stock Exchange Group where he performed several roles, including leading the Refinitiv risk division.
Commenting on his appointment, Minutella says his new company combines a “unique blend of agility, innovation, and unwavering commitment to compliance”.
“I am eager to capitalise on these strengths, tackling complex challenges and filling the gaps the industry has struggled to address.”
Minutella succeeds company founder, Tony Fitzgibbon, as Data Zoo’s CEO, with the firm declaring that Fitzgibbon will shift to the role of chairman and chief strategy officer.
