Former Sutton Bank exec Glenn Murray joins start-up Evolution 2100 as chief strategy officer
Glenn Murray has left his post as VP of strategic growth at Sutton Bank to join emerging financial advocacy platform Evolution 2100 as chief strategy officer.
Founded through a joint venture between Business Funding Group and Ben Crump Enterprise, the start-up plans to provide a suite of financial services, including banking, insurance, and lending, for underserved communities and businesses.
“Our platform is designed to provide users with the tools, resources, and education needed to achieve financial success and independence,” the company writes in a recent job listing.
Although the stealth-like venture lacks an online presence at the time of writing, Murray’s LinkedIn profile indicates that the start-up’s primary remit will be within North America, and that it was incepted last year.
Announcing his move on LinkedIn, Murray says he has been tasked with “shaping and implementing the organisation’s strategic initiatives”, including risk management, performance measurement, stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and long-term planning, among other goals.
He will look to leverage the full breadth of his 30 years of experience in financial services to help drive the start-up’s growth.
At Sutton Bank, a community bank based in Ohio, US, Murray held a variety of executive roles during a tenure of over three years, having most recently occupied the position of vice president of strategic growth for its payments division.
Prior to this, he also worked at PayPal, Mastercard, and Capital One, as well as two separate stints with Discover Financial Services.
Murray says the move “aligns with my longstanding goal of educating people about the payments industry and building and leading platforms that genuinely assist individuals in learning and prospering”.
“Evolution 2100, a mission-driven privately-owned organisation, is committed to partnering with industry veterans, assembling a dedicated team, and building the platform meticulously. It’s a step-by-step process that prioritises doing things right.”
