FinTech Australia shakes up board with four new appointments
FinTech Australia, the country’s advocacy board for its financial technology sector, has made four new appointments to its board.
Sarah Gorman, head of growth and marketing at agri-focused fintech Digital Agriculture Services (DAS), joins as deputy chair, bringing with her more than three decades of experience working across advisory, investment and entrepreneurship.
Other new board members include Kellie Morton, chief legal officer and director at Birchal; Vinnie D’Alessandro, chief product officer at Change Financial; and Brian Collins, principal at Audacity Ventures.
Simone Joyce, CEO and co-founder of Paypa Plane, will remain as chair through 2024 and is expected to hand over the role to another board member sometime next year.
Marie Mortimer, managing director of loans.com.au and board member for the last three years, will be rolling off FinTech Australia’s board. Oliver Kidd, founder and CEO of Archa, also left the board earlier this year.
Commenting on the changes, Joyce says the fintech sector “continues to mature, evolve and meet the challenges of funding uncertainty and broader global economic headwinds”.
“While membership continues to grow and FinTech Australia is engaging with its members in more ways than ever before, we decided that a transition period would be best instead of a straight handover. My key goal in this period is to ensure a smooth handover to a new chair to pick up the reins and hit the ground running.”
