Demystify Podcast: Demystifying embedded banking success with Chris Dean and Chris Tremont
This week, the podcast co-hosts Dave and Dharm have the pleasure of chatting with Chris Tremont, a 20-year+ veteran in financial services who, with a successful fintech exit behind him, is now chief digital officer (CDO) of Grasshopper Bank, and Chris Dean, CEO and co-founder of Treasury Prime, a US-based Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) fintech.
In this episode, we learn about how the US neobank Grasshopper – founded four years ago to initially serve the innovation economy – has grown to serve broader segments. With Chris Dean’s previous experience at Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), it becomes clear why the partnership between Grasshopper and Treasury Prime is working so well.
We also discover why both Grasshopper and Treasury Prime are thriving at a time when both neobanks and BaaS providers are struggling and, sadly, in some cases, failing. It’s clear that the experience that the two Chrises with fintech a decade ago provided a solid foundation for success.
We learned much about the challenges and tremendous opportunities in the US for both sides of the coin: the licensed bank and the technology provider.
