The Clearing House names Margaret Weichert as new chief product officer
US payments company The Clearing House (TCH) has appointed Margaret Weichert as its new chief product officer (CPO).
With more than 20 years of experience in the banking and payments sector, Weichert joins TCH from Accenture, where she served as managing director, North America payments lead for over three years. Prior to that, she worked for the US Government Office of Management and Budget as deputy director for two years.
Her earlier experience also includes stints at EY, Fiserv (First Data Corporation), and Bank of America.
In her new role at TCH, Weichert has been tasked with leading product development for the company’s payment networks, including RTP, CHIPS, ACH, and cheque clearing. She will also be responsible for growing the RTP network, a domestic real-time payments platform which offers immediate payment confirmation.
Commenting on the new appointment, David Watson, president and CEO of TCH, says Weichert’s “deep experience” with financial institutions, fintechs, and technology providers will be an asset for the company as it looks to expand its footprint in the payments space.
In recent months, TCH has made a slew of executive appointments, naming Sheffali Welch as chief operating officer (COO) in August and Watson as CEO in January.
