National Australia Bank partners Greener to reduce small business climate emissions
National Australia Bank (NAB) has partnered with start-up Greener to connect its small business customers to the sustainability solution provider’s Greener for Business digital solution.
Launched earlier this month, the digital solution provides small businesses with a “step-by-step climate action plan” in the form of business guidance, tools and resources.
It enables businesses to reduce their climate impact and achieve net zero through the electrification and enhancement of their packaging, waste and logistics emissions.
Greener says that more than 60 of the bank’s small business customers have already participated in a pilot conducted during the solution’s development earlier this year, and claims that participants were “highly engaged, valued the guidance provided and expressed a willingness to recommend the digital solution”.
According to the bank’s data, one in five small businesses intend to invest in improving the sustainability of their business over the next two years,
NAB executive, business direct and small business, Ana Marinkovic, says despite the “challenging economic environment”, many small businesses are recognising the value of making “smart investments”, and are actively “choosing to prioritise their environmental sustainability”.
“Climate action is everyone’s job. As Australia’s largest business bank, we’re acting to help inform our small business customers of the actions they can take to make a difference.”
The bank previously leveraged its venture capital arm, NAB Ventures, to lead the start-up’s recently closed seed funding round, which raised AUD 4 million and saw additional participation from the Australian investment firm RealVC.
