ConnexPay appoints former PayPal exec George Hansen as chief revenue officer
US-based paytech ConnexPay, which combines payments acceptance and issuance into a single platform, has appointed George Hansen as chief revenue officer (CRO).
With over two decades of experience in the payments industry, Hansen joins ConnexPay from PayPal, where he served as head of global sales and account management.
In that role, he was responsible for overseeing various aspects of the fintech ecosystem including payments, cards, mobile wallets, payouts, FX/cross-border, risk, lending and data services. Hansen was also tasked with driving revenue for the company through client partnerships.
His previous experiences include serving as president of Method Payments, as well as senior roles at American Express and Digital River.
At ConnexPay, Hansen will be responsible for leading the company through its next phase of growth, working with the revenue teams to support revenue growth.
“As the world economy shifts online, digital innovation is key to acquiring and retaining customers, and businesses of all sizes are demanding modernised payments to address their needs in the market,” Hansen says.
“Through its proprietary end-to-end payments platform, ConnexPay is uniquely positioned to eliminate the burden of legacy technology and enable businesses to accept and make payments at scale, globally.”
Founded in 2017, ConnexPay says its unique solution “simplifies an antiquated workflow, eliminates the need for pre-funded accounts, reduces supplier risk and the cost of accepting card payments while safeguarding consumer spend”.
In December, the company hired a new COO, and in October, it raised $110 million in funding led by FTV Capital.
