Stripe appoints Steffan Tomlinson as CFO
US fintech giant Stripe has appointed Steffan Tomlinson as its new chief financial officer (CFO).
Tomlinson brings more than 25 years’ worth of financial experience across the technology landscape to his new role, joining over from data infrastructure firm Confluent, where he also served as CFO for over three years. Prior to that, he was CFO at Google Cloud and Palo Alto Networks. In his new role, he will be tasked with scaling Stripe’s financial operations.
Stripe says Tomlinson brings a “track record of scaling financial operations for high-growth companies like Confluent and Palo Alto Networks, which saw significant increases in customers, revenue, and margin during his tenure”.
Commenting on his new role, Tomlinson says: “Developer- and product-led businesses have been at the heart of my career since the beginning, and I’ve long been struck by Stripe’s relentless focus on its users, and the enduring business this has created.”
Stripe boasts of more than 100 of some of the largest companies in the world as its clients, including Amazon, Uber, BMW and Microsoft, and claims more than 5,000 new businesses go live on its platform each week. Some of its recent sign-ups include Airbnb and WhatsApp.
