ING names Görkem Köseoğlu as new chief technology officer
Görkem Köseoğlu’s career within Dutch banking corporation ING is climbing to new heights following his appointment as chief technology officer (CTO) and member of the Management Board Banking.
He will assume the position from 1 September, succeeding ING’s former CTO, Ron van Kemenade, who departed the role at the end of April. ING’s current chief operations officer (COO) wholesale banking, Danny Nijhuis, will succeed Köseoğlu by stepping into the role of COO Netherlands.
Köseoğlu will therefore be wrapping up his current role of COO at ING Netherlands, where he has led client services activities, the global transformation office, delivery tribes including data management, Know Your Customer (KYC) services and collections, and fraud management since September 2020.
Prior to this, he served as ING Group’s chief analytics officer from January 2018 to September 2020, when he established its global analytics unit, among other responsibilities.
He also held the position of COO and chief information officer for ING Turkey from January 2012 to January 2018.
Prior to joining ING in 2012, Köseoğlu spent over a decade with consultancy firm McKinsey & Company, working in its financial institutions practice and business technology practice.
His current appointment to CTO has been approved by the European Central Bank.
