HSBC appoints two new senior execs to its Global Payments unit
UK banking giant HSBC has made two new senior hires to its Global Payments Solutions (GPS) business.
Martijn Stoker joins as global head of GPS, liquidity and investment solutions, and Melissa Tuozzolo as global head of GPS client service.
Stoker joins HSBC from JP Morgan, where he served in various senior roles for almost a decade, most recently as managing director, EMEA head of liquidity and accounting solutions. In a career spanning 25 years, he has also worked as an APAC managing director for BNP Paribas in Singapore, and has had stints at Standard Chartered Bank and ABN Amro Bank.
In his new role in London starting October, Stoker will be responsible for evolving and executing the product strategy for GPS’s liabilities and liquidity management product portfolio.
Based in New York, USA, Tuozzolo joins HSBC from Bank of America, where she has been working as head of international payments for the past year.
Prior to that, she spent a majority of her career at Citi in various senior positions, latterly as payments financial infrastructure and industry head. She has also worked at Amalgamated Bank, and served two years at HSBC as North America head of international payments.
Starting September, Tuozzolo will join HSBC and lead client services for GPS across all regions and clients, “to ensure a first class client service and post-sales support culture, and to position HSBC as an industry leader in this area”.
Manish Kohli, head of GPS at HSBC, says growing the payments business is a “strategic priority” for the banking giant, as it plans to leverage the “deep industry experience” brought on by the new hires towards growing its business.
