Rapyd names Shlomit Wagman as global chief regulation and compliance officer
UK-based fintech Rapyd has appointed Shlomit Wagman as its new global chief regulation and compliance officer.
Calling Wagman a “recognised figure in worldwide financial crime and regulatory circles”, Rapyd says the appointment underscores its efforts to enforce “rigorous” global compliance standards in an “increasingly complex” fintech industry.
Wagman brings more than 20 years of financial compliance and regulation experience to her new role. She joins Rapyd from the Israel Money Laundering and Terror Financing Prohibition Authority (IMPA), where she spent over a decade, and as director general for the last six years.
She was also head of the Israeli delegation to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), chair of the FATF operational working group, and a Harvard-affiliated scholar.
In Wagman’s new role, she will be responsible for strengthening Rapyd’s financial crime and compliance framework, utilising her “deep knowledge” of financial crime and the regulatory environment, as the company eyes an IPO in the future.
Commenting on her appointment, Wagman says: “Through close collaboration with global regulators with an emphasis on integrity, transparency, and consumer protection, I aim to maintain Rapyd’s high level of integrity while paving the way for next-level compliance in the fintech industry.”
