Spain’s CaixaBank partners Google Cloud to drive digitalisation
Spain’s CaixaBank has partnered with Google Cloud to accelerate the bank’s transition to the cloud and drive innovation in data and analytics technologies.
The “strategic, multi-year” partnership will see the bank leverage Google Cloud’s cloud computing, data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning capabilities to develop new services and boost its digitalisation strategy.
CaixaBank chief operating officer Luis Javier Blas says: “The complex analysis of information offers great potential in multiple areas of activity when combined with new technologies, such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing.
“By partnering with Google Cloud, we will drive data-based innovation and enhance our capabilities.”
CaixaBank will also leverage Google Cloud technology to support its strategy for sustainability. Google Cloud’s sustainable infrastructure, based on smart and efficient data centres, and its secure cloud approach will enable the bank to take advantage of improved analytics capabilities, while meeting strict compliance needs and standards in terms of data protection and privacy.
CaixaBank has an asset volume of more than €590 billion and has more than 20 million customers, as well as the largest branch and ATM network in Spain and Portugal.
