Acrisure Backs ‘Arts Marketplace’ to Support Women and Minority-Owned Artisans
Partnership creates opportunities and removes barriers for diverse entrepreneurs in West Michigan
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Acrisure, a top-10 global insurance broker and fintech services provider, today announced it has become a platinum sponsor of the Arts Marketplace at Studio Park, a platform for women and minority-owned makers and artisans in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids. The Company’s commitment will directly support entrepreneurs in West Michigan, particularly groups who face greater economic challenges in starting a business.
The announcement follows the launch of Evolution Advisors, Acrisure’s joint venture focused on the insurance and financial product needs of minority-owned businesses and diverse communities. Additionally, Acrisure is finalizing a new headquarters in the Studio Park complex, which they hope to occupy in the coming months as pandemic and safety trends improve.
“Acrisure is proud to continue our alignment with and support of diverse business owners by partnering with the Arts Marketplace and its goal of empowering women and minority artisans. As we prepare to move into our new Grand Rapids headquarters, we’re excited to support our neighbors and help power this diverse aspect of the local economy,” said Greg Williams, Co-Founder, President and CEO of Acrisure.
The Arts Marketplace at Studio Park features products made by over 50 diverse, independent makers from the greater Grand Rapids area. Studio C, Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. and the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce opened the Arts Marketplace at Studio Park in December 2020 anchored by Pack Elephant, a values-driven gifting platform.
“We couldn’t be more grateful and energized by the generosity and support of Acrisure. The Arts Marketplace at Studio Park is a nonprofit that exists to remove barriers and provide resources that empower women and minority-owned makers to thrive and succeed in the heart of our city, all while creating a bold, unique new retail destination downtown,” said Jamie Dionne, Board President of the Arts Marketplace. “Together, we are truly making downtown Grand Rapids a more vibrant, inclusive place for all. We are proud and honored for the support of Acrisure and look forward to continuing this meaningful work in our community.”
Acrisure is deeply committed to West Michigan, local philanthropic causes and broader social issues. In 2020, the Company pledged $15 million to form the virtual Acrisure Center for Innovation in Children’s Health at the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. Additionally, the consolidation of Acrisure’s West Michigan footprint to the new downtown Grand Rapids location will bring hundreds of jobs as the Company continues to grow.
