Flyer Rolls Out Advanced Trading Capabilities to Advisors Using Morningstar Total Rebalance Expert
NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Flyer, the leading provider of trading tools, connectivity, and infrastructure for the wealth management industry, today announced the rapid integration of Co-Pilot, Flyer’s securities trading API with Morningstar® Total Rebalance Expert® (TRX), the tax-efficient portfolio rebalancing platform, designed to bring faster trade execution and a seamless user experience to financial advisors. From start to finish, the integration upgrade took only eight weeks to complete.
Flyer’s innovative open API provides a “plug-and-play” development experience for its technology partners. With Flyer as the backbone of the trading execution process, TRX brings efficiencies of scale to a traditionally inefficient process. Advisors will experience a shortened user workflow that automates previously manual steps in the trade execution process. The integration also centralizes trading data through a single system, making trade execution more efficient with block orders and straight-through processing capabilities to each major custodian.
“At Flyer, we have always prioritized the importance of speed, both in our product development and in the time it takes software to execute trades through the Co-Pilot platform,” said Flyer CFO Bradley Kellogg. “Our integration with Morningstar shows that WealthTech firms can work together to rapidly and drastically improve trading and rebalancing capabilities for financial professionals without adding complexity.”
Flyer’s securities trading API reduces repetitive and time-consuming tasks like the exporting and uploading of trade files to brokers and custodians during the trading process. Within TRX, Flyer’s API allows one-click order execution and centralizes trade orders through a common data warehouse, showing advisors an expanded at-a-glance summary report of all trades, both pre-and post-execution.
“Integrating with Flyer’s open API streamlines the TRX trading experience, making it easy and fast to enhance the product over time,” said Blain Hefty, Product Manager, Morningstar. “Best of all, our users can start enjoying an improved trading experience immediately.”
“By giving TRX access to Flyer’s trade execution APIs, this partnership enhances the valuable services that Morningstar already provides to advisors,” said Brian Ross, CEO of Flyer. “Ultimately, it improves an advisory firm’s ability to deliver faster and better results to investors.”
