ION Investment Group acquires majority stake in Acuris
BC Partners has sold a majority stake of global financial information provider Acuris to ION Investment Group, reports Jane Connolly.
ION acquired a controlling stake from BC Partners and GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund. Minority ownership will be retained by BC Partners and Acuris management, who are reinvesting.
Acuris provides investor, advisory and corporate clients with proprietary insights and analytics across six areas: fixed income, transactions, equities, compliance, infrastructure and research. Its products, which include Mergermarket and Debtwire, serve nearly 5,000 subscribing firms.
Hamilton Matthews, Acuris CEO, says: “We are excited to partner with ION and will benefit from the strength of their platforms and their network of relationships with financial institutions and corporations.”
“Acuris’ leading position in financial intelligence, data and analytics is highly complementary to ION’s business,” adds Andrea Pignataro, ION’s CEO and founder. “Together, ION and Acuris will continue to deliver innovative, differentiated intelligence and solutions to financial institutions and corporations.”
