Gyft Releases Workplace Survey Stats; Launches B2B Bulk Gift Card Program (Oct. 5, 2015)
Employers need to “step up their gifting game” with the holiday season approaching, according to the latest research from Gyft. The First Data company released its findings to coincide with its launch of a B2B bulk gift card purchasing program, enabling businesses to reward employees with gift cards from more than 200 retailers.
Gyft’s survey of 1,000 workers in the U.S. indicates that 47 percent of respondents appreciate their employers more when they receive a gift around the holidays. Out of the companies that did give gifts, 12 percent of employees reported receiving company-branded materials, sweets or fruitcakes. Gyft’s survey suggests that company gifts will be more appreciated and morale will be higher if the gift is popular with employees. Nearly two-thirds (63 percent) of respondents reported they’d prefer to receive a gift card. Workers also reported they like giving gift cards, with 35 percent of respondents citing the benefit of enabling recipients to get what they want, and 42 percent saying gift cards eliminate the uncertainty of recipients’ preferences or tastes.
The free B2B bulk gift card purchasing program eliminates the need for companies to purchase and track individual gift cards, shipping costs, lost cards and limited choice of participating retailers, according to Gyft.
