People on the Move: Kathleen Ryan, Cheryl Parker Rose, Christopher Carroll and Elizabeth Ellis, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (September 2013)

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) recently named new senior staff in four divisions. Kathleen (Kitty) Ryan, a former senior regulatory counsel at JPMorgan Chase, will serve as deputy assistant director in the CFPB’s Office of Regulations. At JPMorgan Chase, Ryan focused on regulatory issues related to mortgages and other consumer products. Cheryl Parker Rose has been hired as assistant director in the CFPB’s Office of Intergovernmental Affairs. She was most recently deputy director of U.S. government relations for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Christopher Carroll has been appointed assistant director and chief economist in the CFPB’s Office of Research. Carroll will take a leave of absence from his academic position at Johns Hopkins University. Elizabeth Ellis, who had served as senior adviser to the CFPB’s chief of staff, will become deputy assistant director in the Office of Financial Institutions and Business Liaison.
