TSYS, a Columbus, Ga.-based processor, has announced executive promotions and additions to its senior management group.
Gaylon Jowers Jr. has been appointed senior executive vice president. He also serves as president of TSYS’s international services segment. Jowers has held leadership roles in which he was responsible for the company’s debit, prepaid, loyalty, debt management, e-commerce, global sales, corporate strategy and marketing initiatives. Mark D. Pyke also has been named senior executive vice president. Pyke also serves as president of TSYS’s merchant services segment and chairman of the board for Central Payment Co. LLC, a TSYS joint venture focused on direct acquiring.
Dennis Jones has been promoted to executive vice president of business operations, international services. He oversees the operations and technology teams responsible for account migration, data center and facilities, customer care, technology development and production support within the international services segment. David E. Wood has been appointed executive vice president of business operations, merchant services, and he serves as the head of business operations for TSYS’s entire merchant services segment.
Richard J. Machold has been named chief audit executive. He is responsible for providing independent reviews and evaluations of the company’s operations, information systems, controls, major business processes and reporting functions in order to provide recommendations to management, external auditors and the audit committee. Eric Barth has been appointed group executive of product management, merchant services. A 20-year veteran of the payments and financial services industry, he previously served as principal and cofounder of Payments Acquisitions Management LLC, a management consultancy firm for payments-related businesses. Wallace K. Brown Jr. has been promoted to group executive and senior associate general counsel. He oversees legal affairs related to the North American segment’s business development and support groups, including customer and vendor relationships, data security and protection and risk management.
Robert E. Leary has been named group executive of business operations, merchant services. He is responsible for business operations at the TSYS Merchant Solutions affiliate in Omaha, Neb. Jody B. Lee has been appointed group executive of information security. Lee is responsible for TSYS’s global information security, including information security architecture and engineering, threat management, vulnerability management, identity and access management, security consulting and PCI DSS compliance. Michael L. McKitrick has been promoted to group executive of compensation, benefits and HR technology. He is responsible for developing and executing enterprise compensation, benefits and HR technology strategies and program management.
Susan M. Sheen has been appointed group executive of marketing, communications and business support, merchant services. She is responsible for the merchant services segment’s marketing strategy, channel and product marketing, internal and external communications, voice-of-the-customer initiatives, executive communications and strategic engagement for both team members and customers. Ian Thompson has been promoted to group executive of human resources, international services. He leads the international HR team, delivering HR services to team members in 10 countries outside of North America and supporting executive leadership in driving international business forward.
