Get your Bacs up with Direct Debit feedback
UK payments system Bacs is asking for public feedback on how to improve the nation’s Direct Debit product.
Bacs says usage is at an “all-time high” and lavishes praise on it. What a surprise. However, its 2016 consultation identified where it might be able to make improvements and “any changes will need to be carefully considered from all angles”.
It wants people to share their thoughts in the following areas:
- Security – Self-explanatory;
- Flexibility – To understand if more flexibility is needed by consumers and billing organisations;
- Control – To understand how much control people want;
- Liability – How to improve access to a wider range of billing organisations.
Bacs says it recognises that some users will have experience of Direct Debit in a number of different capacities – and if this is the case feel free to complete the call for input more than once, as appropriate.
The information will be collected through its research partner, Orc International, and responses should be submitted no later than 8 September 2017. To take part click here.
Bacs says it will also use feedback to help it respond to the Payments Strategy Forum consultation which seeks information on future requirements for the New Payments Architecture.
