Visa invests in paytech firm and bank Klarna
Visa is investing in Klarna, a Swedish payments and banking firm, and the two firms intend “to develop a future strategic partnership”.
Visa says the investment “is part of a global strategy to open up the Visa ecosystem and support a broad range of new partners”.
Jim McCarthy, EVP, innovation and strategic partnerships, Visa, says that “together, we share a vision for how today’s online and mobile commerce experiences can be as simple as they are in the real world”.
CEO and co-founder of Klarna, Sebastian Siemiatkowski, comments the partnership between the two firms is “a natural fit”.
