Rabobank and Signicat launch Rabo eBusiness in the Netherlands
Rabobank and Signicat have joined forces to launch a new digital identity service provider (DISP) for the Netherlands, Rabo eBusiness.
Rabo eBusiness provides digital services to businesses, supporting them in servicing their clients. It offers a range of online login, identity, signature and archiving solutions for the industries such as insurance, healthcare, energy, telecoms and financial services.
“Consumers can log onto the merchant’s website using one of the identity services provided by Rabo eBusiness and can then, for example, sign a contract online,” the two companies say.
“The platform is easy to integrate into the existing business processes using API technology.”
Alexander Zwart, responsible for online channels and access at Rabobank, says the bank decided to partner with a “well-established strategic player” rather than develop a solution in-house.
Signicat, in turn, is keen to expand its presence in the Dutch market. Gunnar Nordseth, CEO of Signicat, describes the Netherlands as “a strategically important market and a European hub that has great potential for digital identity, signature and archiving services”.
The market for DISPs opened on 1 April 2017 within the framework of iDIN (an electronic ID verification service for the Netherlands).
