Stellar offers sponsorship for fintech start-ups
Stellar Development Foundation is offering sponsorships for fintech start-ups, and those who educate developers or represent an NGO.
Sponsorship is available in the forms of “lumens” – Stellar’s unit of digital currency, similar to a Bitcoin.
The firm says its goal is to support new products and ideas, and for those enabling that goal via a technical product or process, it says you are “likely a good fit”.
Applications can be made on the firm’s website. If approved, the recipients will receive a batch of “invites” that can be sent to their students or colleagues. Applicants will receive invitations from Stellar to claim 2,500 lumens via email.
Along with the launch of the sponsorship programme, the firm is calling for entries to the next round of its Stellar Build Challenge, a contest for innovation and development in the “Stellar ecosystem”.
This round features a new judge, James Gong from Chainb in China, and judges will be allotted a set amount of lumens to award per category as they see fit.
Stellar adds that “tutorials” is a new category, and the judges are looking to award prizes for new documentation, blog posts, screencasts, and talks about the Stellar network.
