SS&C’s Global Wealth Platform live at Smead Capital
Seattle-based Smead Capital Management has gone live with a new wealth management platform – Global Wealth Platform (GWP) – provided by SS&C Technologies.
The solution is delivered in the cloud. GWP replaced Smead Capital’s legacy solution supplied by a third party.
SS&C says Smead Capital was looking to increase automation “simply and cost-effectively” and to reduce the time spent on manual tasks such as monitoring and managing custodial data feeds. Thus, the investment firm required “a single, web-based platform which included electronic order routing via FIX”.
“With this deployment we are running the core operational processes, accessible by all of our staff and managing $2.2 billion in assets,” says Lisa Martin, COO and CFO at Smead Capital.
“The speed, scale and flexibility of this deployment proved that SS&C was the right choice to support strategic growth plans and improve operational efficiency,” she adds.
Smead was set up in 2007 by Bill Smead, who is the company’s chief investment officer. It manages a US Large Cap equity strategy in separate accounts and mutual funds for advisors, family offices and institutions. It has $2.2 billion assets under management.
SS&C’s GWP has a good uptake in the US. Users include Albert Fried & Co in New York, Baldwin Brothers in Massachusetts, Hanlon Investment Management in New Jersey and Virtus Investment Partners in Connecticut.
