I2c and TIS team up for payments in Asia
Payment firms i2c and TIS have formed a strategic partnership to standardise prepaid payment solutions on the i2c processing platform.
Under terms of the multi-year partnership, Japan-based TIS will adopt i2c’s cloud-based platform as its standard for prepaid card processing and expand its use to support credit and debit card payment processing in “key Asian markets in the near future”.
TIS says it has a “long track record of working with banks and issuers and a deep understanding of Japanese trends and other Asian markets”.
With i2c’s platform, TIS can offer card control features, such as setting spending limits and parental controls via online or mobile device.
Mitushi Nishida, EVP of TIS, says the partnership “expands its reach to new customers and markets”, as it looks to “strategic growth in Japan and across Asia”.
I2C is based in Silicon Valley, and says its platform supports “virtually” any card payment programme in plastic, virtual or mobile form.
As well as providing payments, TIS (part of IT Holdings Group) offers a number of IT services, including data centre and cloud solutions.
