US fintech Onbe names Sayid Shabeer as new chief product officer
Onbe, a US-based corporate payments fintech, has appointed former Vantiv VP Sayid Shabeer as its new chief product officer (CPO).
Shabeer joins from Texan fintech HighRadius, where he served as the firm’s CPO for the past six years. Before HighRadius, he held the roles of VP of merchant product and VP of e-commerce product at Vantiv (now Worldpay) following stints at companies such as Merrill Lynch, Inkriti, and Little & Co.
Bala Janakiraman, CEO of Onbe, says Shabeer’s experience in building “scalable solutions” will enable the company to “extend our reach across new segments and clients” as financial institutions and software companies “increasingly seek to embed modern payment capabilities into their platforms”.
Founded in 1996, Onbe provides an array of payment solutions built to streamline consumer and workforce disbursements for corporate clients. For banks and financial institutions, the company offers tools to modernise appeasement processes and manage overpayment refunds.
Shabeer further strengthens Onbe’s C-suite following the appointments of Brent Coles as chief financial officer (CFO) and Suresh Kumar as chief technology officer (CTO) in 2022.
