Goetz Moeller joins German paytech Unzer as new CFO
Former Nexi Group exec Goetz Moeller has joined Unzer, a German digital commerce company providing payment and software solutions to European merchants, as its new chief financial officer (CFO).
Moeller succeeds Adam Conlon, who has held the role on an interim basis since the departure of former Unzer CFO Katrin Stark in September 2023.
In a statement announcing Moeller’s appointment, Unzer credits Conlon for helping to “steer the company through a period of significant change”.
Moeller, whose appointment took effect on 2 January, is now responsible for overseeing Unzer’s financial planning, analytics, treasury and accounting functions specifically.
He moves directly from Nexi Group, an Italian paytech specialising in solutions that facilitate cashless transactions for businesses, where he served as CFO and finance director for the DACH region.
Before joining Nexi in 2022, Moeller held roles as CFO and management board member at PPRO, as well as at PayOne and Equens, both subsidiaries of Worldline.
Speaking on the company’s latest appointment, Robert Bueninck, CEO of Unzer, cites Moeller’s experience in building and scaling regulated payments organisations of varying sizes as a key factor in making him “a strong fit for our team at this stage of the company”.
Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Berlin, Unzer currently supports more than 85,000 merchants across Europe with payment processing solutions, as well as solutions for managing payment infrastructure, fraud prevention and financial analytics.
