TD Bank upgrades retail card business with Backbase Engagement Banking platform
The Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD Bank), the sixth-largest bank in North America, has partnered with Dutch banking tech vendor Backbase to upgrade its retail card business.
Through this new collaboration, TD Bank will leverage Backbase’s Engagement Banking platform to offer “an enhanced, more digital-first and friendly experience for retail cardholders”, according to the vendor.
Key features include enhanced self-service options and simplified online account management.
Moreover, Backbase claims its solution allows for “greater versatility” to better serve TD Bank with “similar solutions across its varied retail brand partners”.
The Dutch vendor reveals that the new multi-channel credit card service will initially be introduced to more than two million customers through a “large strategic card partnership programme”.
The bank is the latest in a growing list of global financial institutions to trigger a digital revamp with Backbase’s flagship solution, joining the ranks of Vietnam’s Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank, the UK’s Furness Building Society, and CIH Bank in Morocco.
