Portugal’s Rauva appoints Pedro Ventaneira as new CRO
Rauva, a fintech based in Portugal which provides a business and financial services app for entrepreneurs, has appointed Pedro Ventaneira as its new chief risk officer (CRO).
Ventaneira’s hiring comes just over a year after Rauva appointed Tomas Oliveira da Silva as CRO. Oliveira da Silva left the company in April, just eight months into the role, to join Dubai-based Staq.io as its chief risk and compliance officer (CRCO).
Ventaneira brings nearly 30 years of experience in the financial sector to Rauva. He joins the company from Banco Português de Fomento (Portuguese Development Bank), where he has served as CRO since January 2023.
His career also includes senior risk leadership roles at Caixa Económica Montepio Geral, Haitong Bank, and Espírito Santo Investment Bank, where he spent over 14 years as head of risk control and finance.
Founded in 2022, Rauva serves small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and freelancers in Europe with its business app, providing solutions for invoicing, accounting, and expense management.
The fintech’s app also includes a business account that supports international transfers in 40 currencies, instant SEPA payments, and both physical and virtual debit cards. Additionally, Rauva provides entrepreneurs with a service to help them establish a company in Portugal, assisting with things such as tax registration, company registration, certification, and more.
