Trustly names former Sinch exec Henrik Wallström as new CTO
Swedish open banking paytech Trustly has appointed Henrik Wallström as its new chief technology officer (CTO) for its European operations.
In a statement, the paytech says the new CTO is expected to prove “instrumental in driving continued innovation and growth”, while group CEO Johan Tjärnberg comments that the appointment arrives “as as we enter our next phase of growth in the months ahead”.
Wallström previously served at Stockholm-headquartered communications platform Sinch, where he acted as CTO for the company’s application division since October 2022.
Before joining Sinch, he held positions at several notable financial institutions, including Swedish fintech Klarna, where he is credited with launching its consumer growth domain, and Nasdaq, where he worked as a software engineer.
Wallström also boasts an entrepreneurial history, having established Finsit, a business intelligence platform for accounting data, in 2005.
He joins a string of recent additions to Trustly’s executive team, including Annika Poutiainen as chief legal officer and Georg Kaltenbrunner as group chief risk and compliance officer, both of whom were appointed in February.
Most recently, the payment solutions vendor named Adam Miller as its group CFO last month.
Miller previously held the same role at Deliveroo for more than two years, during which he managed the company’s listing on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) in 2021.
