Travelex launches “major refresh” of 600 ATMs with NCR Atleos
Foreign exchange (FX) and payments firm Travelex has actioned “a major refresh” of its 600-strong international ATM portfolio with partner NCR Atleos.
As part of the refresh, the Travelex ATM network is to be replaced with NCR SelfServ ATMs, as well as the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) monitoring tool NCR Vision.
This operation will extend across all eight countries in which the network operates, including the UK, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Australia and New Zealand.
The outcome is intended to enhance FX and domestic currency transactions for Travelex customers through touch screen-enabled ATMs, barcode readers and, in some markets, contactless cash withdrawals without the need for a physical card.
In the UK, the upgrade will continue to support the firm’s click-and-collect functionalities, whereby customers can collect pre-ordered foreign cash at over 50 airport locations.
NCR Atleos, which sold its transaction processing and card management business in Canada to PSP Services last month, will continue to provide ATM management services for the plethora of clients it has picked up throughout this year.
Among these are Black Hills Federal Credit Union, CoreFirst Bank, and Banco Sabadell, the fourth-largest private banking group in Spain.
