London-based fintech IFX Payments has named former Barclays VP Adam Dowling as its new chief operating officer (COO).
Founded in 2005, IFX Payments offers a suite of payment, treasury, and financial management solutions, including global foreign exchange services. The company’s cross-border payment solutions facilitate large-scale transactions in over 90 currencies across more than 120 countries.
The company also provides multi-currency accounts, virtual IBANs, API integration, and a range of other financial services.
Dowling joins IFX Payments from Alpha Group, where he spent over five years, most recently serving as the group’s MD for alternative banking solutions.
Dowling’s career also includes stints at Banking Circle and several roles at Barclays, where he progressed from corporate service executive to VP of cash management.
In his new role at IFX Payments, Dowling has been tasked with “delivering scalable operating systems, launching and streamlining new operations in new territories, overseeing change management, business transformation, and enhancing customer satisfaction”.
According to a company statement, Dowling’s appointment is part of the firm’s “territorial and departmental expansion as the company grows to over 200 employees, and compliments other recent C-suite hires”. This includes Glenn Uniacke, who was named chief revenue officer last month.
