Zenus Bank launches global BaaS offering following Tuum tech integration
Zenus Bank, a Puerto Rico-based digital bank that offers US bank accounts to customers all over the world, has launched its new global Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) platform following the integration of the Accounts and Payments modules of Estonian core banking software vendor Tuum.
The modules enable Zenus to offer its own US banking infrastructure to other banks, fintechs and other third-party businesses in more than 120 countries, enabling them to embed US banking services and extend them to their customers.
These services include packaged payment initiation and validation capabilities fitted with specific and local payment formation rules and automated payment processing and settlement.
In a statement, the bank says the integration provides “scalable cross-border transactional banking services”, leveraging “integrations with key systems” alongside its own regulatory and technological framework.
Speaking on incoming developments, Zenus chairman Mushegh Tovmasyan confirms the bank has “over a dozen exciting BaaS partnerships” in the pipeline, which he expects to go live in Q4 this year following the launch of the platform.
The bank’s previous vendor selections include Fiserv company Finxact, Microsoft and HSO, which were chosen in 2022 to power its retail, corporate and partnership banking operations.
Last year, Zenus acquired FUEX Payments, a start-up provider of real-time payment API solutions also based in Puerto Rico, for an undisclosed sum.
