Santander launches e-commerce payments solution Getnet SEP for LatAm merchants
Getnet, a payment solution provider operating as part of Banco Santander’s paytech arm PagoNxt, has launched Getnet SEP, a new e-commerce payments offering for merchants in Latin America.
The solution will offer merchants in Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Mexico a single entry point (SEP) for managing a range of payment functions, including sales, refunds, subscriptions, tokenisation and fraud mitigation.
Santander says Getnet SEP will enable users to “reduce the complexity and technical challenges associated with integrating and maintaining multiple payment methods and providers”.
“Merchants will easily be able to add or switch payment providers, expand into new markets and adopt emerging payment technologies,” the bank says.
Santander adds that merchants already using Getnet’s Plataforma Digital service in Argentina and Brazil will now be able to access Getnet SEP, with the bank preparing a similar launch for clients in neighbouring Chile and Mexico “in the next few weeks”.
The launch marks Santander as the only bank in the region to offer this single integration, according to comments by Getnet global CEO Kush Saxena.
Santander spun out its Getnet Brazil business in 2021, saying at the time it had plans to create “a global merchant acquiring franchise” under the Getnet brand as part of PagoNxt.
The same year, PagoNxt snapped up a 70% stake in Mexican technology firm Mercadotecnia, Ideas y Tecnología (MIT) for an undisclosed sum.
