SME app Countingup hires ClearScore’s Dan Elias as head of product
UK-based small business banking and account app Countingup has unveiled Dan Elias as its new head of product.
Elias, who succeeds the position from Astrid Esquevin, joins Countingup directly from the consumer finance group ClearScore, where he has served as head of product since 2019.
Countingup says Elias will work to “drive product development, ensuring that our offerings continue to meet the evolving needs of small businesses”.
Founded by former Clear Books chief Tim Fouracre in 2017, the Countingup app automates financial administration for small business owners and the self-employed with features for bookkeeping, tax, expense categorisation and more.
The company has been backed by Dutch banking giant ING, among other investors, since completing a £4 million bridge funding round in 2020.
The new head of product will be joined by Tom McGilloway and Jamie Crosson, who Countingup has also hired as head of compliance and head of marketing respectively.
Speaking on the company’s latest hiring spree, Countingup CEO Tom Platt says the appointments will be “instrumental in driving our next phase of growth”, including “innovating our product to meet our customers’ needs squarely” and “scaling our brand and reach”.
