Payment processor Clowd9 hires former Thredd tech lead Paul Hansford as new CTO
Clowd9, a cloud-native decentralised payment processing platform for banks and fintechs, has hired Paul Hansford as its new chief technology officer (CTO).
Hansford says he is joining at a “critical juncture” for the UK-based paytech.
He steps into the role following a six-year tenure at another UK payments firm, Thredd, where he had been serving as head of software engineering before taking a career break in January this year.
He also previously held the roles of head of software development and CTO at Thredd, which later went on to appoint former Dayrize chief Edwin Poot to this latter position in March.
Hansford’s new employer states that his previous experience in fintech will “undoubtedly propel Clowd9 to greater heights in issuer processing innovation”.
Clowd9 CEO and founder Suresh Vaghjiani praises Hansford’s “extensive experience and track record in the fintech sector, particularly with a distinguished competitor”, “global team-scaling capabilities and expertise in cloud-based services”, and “inspirational leadership style”.
Launched in 2022, Clowd9’s payment processing platform claims to enable real-time payments across any network, system and payment type, and is currently live with financial institutions including London-based fintech start-up ZORRZ, which announced its partnership with the paytech in June to develop its BlueAccess Hybrid Credit Card offering.
