KORT Payments takes over POS provider Barnet Technologies to drive “aggressive expansion”
Toronto, Canada-headquartered KORT Payments has acquired a domestic Point of Sale (POS) solutions provider, Barnet Technologies, for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2008 and based in Surrey, British Colombia, Barnet provides POS systems for cannabis dispensaries and liquor stores across Canada.
KORT describes the acquisition as “a major step in expanding its technological capabilities”, and will integrate Barnet’s technology into its own payments platform.
The merged entity is led by the founding forces of Paysafe Group, who were installed as KORT’s new management team earlier this year when the paytech completed an undisclosed capital raise and rebranded from Merrco Payments.
KORT says it is now “well-positioned to continue its trajectory of aggressive expansion”.
