Malta’s Papaya promotes Igor Tsybolyuk to CEO
Maltese fintech Papaya has promoted Igor Tsybolyuk, who has been serving as the company’s chief operating officer (COO) since June 2022, to the role of CEO effective immediately.
In his previous role, Tsybolyuk is credited with implementing new business strategies that have significantly contributed to the company’s “growth and stability”.
Papaya says that Tsybolyuk brings extensive expertise in regulatory compliance and strategic planning that will help lead the company “into its next phase of development”.
Founded in 2021, Papaya offers digital banking services such as IBAN accounts for individuals and businesses, know your customer (KYC) solutions, white-label mobile and online banking, Mastercard payment cards, and PSD2-compliant SEPA transfer services.
The company is licenced as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA).
Tsybolyuk states Papaya’s “mission” is to provide “financial capabilities to European consumers and businesses, including underserved categories, ensuring inclusivity and access for all”.
Prior to joining Papaya, Tsybolyuk was a managing director at WallexPay in Prague for five years, CEO of Talentoom, and director at Bestpay.
