Leadership change at Phoebus Software as long-standing exec Paul Hunt steps down
Paul Hunt, CEO of UK-based Phoebus Software, has stepped down from his role after two decades at the helm. He is moving to the position of vice chair of the board of directors.
Hunt “has shaped Phoebus to be the business it is today”, the company says.
“He has also overseen its expansion and growth from a relatively small company 20 years ago to the point where it now has 140 staff and more than £110 billion assets under management while it provides the servicing software for more than 25 banks, building societies, savings institutions, and third-party service providers.”
Founded in 1989, Phoebus provides mortgages and savings technology to financial institutions in the UK and Ireland. In 1997, it became fully independent, followed by a management buyout in 2019, supported by Northedge Capital.
Its clients include Aviva, Business Lending Group (BLG), Equifinance, Atom Bank, Legal & General, Cambridge & Counties Bank, Manchester Building Society, and Hampshire Trust Bank (HTB).
Its platform services multi-channel, multi-product and multi-currency banking, lending and deposits. The functionality encompasses originations, primary and specialist servicing, general ledger, treasury and securitisation.
Hunt describes Phoebus as “the most fantastic company” with “wonderful people and a great culture”. The employees “really believe in giving back to the community while minimising the impact we have on the environment”, he adds.
In his new role as vice chair, Hunt “will remain a key voice on the direction of the company”.
Meanwhile, chief revenue officer Adam Oldfield has been promoted to the managing director (MD) role.
Oldfield has been with the company for five years and “has increasingly become instrumental in the growth and direction of Phoebus”. He has worked in the mortgage industry for over 20 years.
Commenting on his appointment, Oldfield says the team has “a great vision for taking the company forward”, with the aim to grow its presence in the UK and across Europe.
